Are lifeguards present at the pool?

Lifeguards are in attendance from 10am until 6pm throughout the open season (May – September).

When do you open?

Shoalstone is open May – September, all day, every day during the season.

Is there a charge to use the pool?

Shoalstone Seawater Pool does not charge for admission. However, we rely upon donations in order to survive and would appreciate any contribution, no matter how small, each time you visit. You can donate via our “mine” collection boxes at the pool, using the various QR codes onsite or online via our website.  You can also join the Friends of Shoalstone Seawater Pool.

Can dogs swim in the pool?

We are sorry that during the pool opening season dogs are not permitted to swim in the pool due to hygiene reasons. However, we do hold specific dog swim events in the off season. Keep an eye on our events page for more details.

We have a

Where can I park?

We have over 60 parking spaces. 40 in the main car park and over 20 (seasonal) in the overflow. We run an ANPR (Automatic number plate recognition) system. Parking fees apply and you ‘Pay on Exit’ at the meter by inputting your number plate and following the instructions. All car park fees (apart from a small management fee) go to Shoalstone Seawater Pool.

Do you have toilets?

We have a toilet block near the car park. Ladies, gents and disabled are available. It is free to use. Open May – September.

Can I rent a deckchair?

Deckchairs and sun loungers can be rented out for the day from the poolside office May to September

What is the pool water temperature?

During the summer months it will vary between 16 & 20 degrees depending on the weather conditions. Generally it stays a degree or two warmer than the open sea.
